| what is starrocker? Starrocker has been an as famous as meanwhile forgotten science fiction radio serial assumably created around until 1926 by Fritz Lang and Louis Feuillade. The hero of the universe is 'Starrocker' who is travelling by the help of his compatriot Captain Dick, the dream pilot of the universe, and is coming to the rescue of various planets and their model societies which metaphorically seem to expose certain aspects of the human 'civilisation'. In opposite to figures from nowadays more known known US TV and cinema serials, Starrocker never achieves to impose himself as the proof of the superiority of the Anglosaxon or Western European culture of thinking, but is rather in the middle of a twist of events, escaping shattered, rather mistakenly recognized as the one through whose arrival a danger was solved (what seems to be the case anyway). Most original scripts seem to have vanished as have rare recordings on strange media. One part of the destination of the organisation (starrocker.org) is to find them and reconstruct them. Even some of the original music score have been already detected, such as the Starrocker theme and the music from the episodes 'Starrocker on Koshuk Planet' (which is rather a series of episodes) and 'Starrocker sur Planet d'Amour' which might have been 'Starrocker sur Planet d'Amour rêvé' or 'Starrocker sur Planet d'Illusions' (could be another episode as well). The later probably by Feuillade who always dreamt to prove his famous cinema successes have been more symbolic loaded than his contemp thought. What are the goals of starrocker.org? - the reconstruction of the serial in all ways (artists and university project) - a university project to reflect the serial constructions symbolic meaning of the described societies and the linguistic aspects of the 'koshuk language' and maybe others if found. |
